Fixing your credit can be a daunting task. Not only will you need to begin paying your bills on time starting TODAY, but you'll also need to review your credit report for any negative information and get it "cleaned up," either by disputing the items or settling and paying them off.
This can lead to a ridiculously complicated task of writing letters, making sure you follow the law, sending your letters via registered mail, following up TENACIOUSLY, and so on. Trust me. I did it myself at first.
You see, I had gotten myself into a bit of a pickle. I had a bad car accident in rainy weather on CA1 in Malibu, and had to declare bankruptcy. Fortunately, nobody was hurt but the other guy's car was totaled as was mine, I had no insurance, and
What Lexington Law will do for you is to take over the letter writing and endless follow-ups so you can focus on saving money and keeping up with bills to bring your score up. What Lexington Law will NOT do for you is any kind of magic or string-pulling that you couldn't do yourself. This is my main criticism of them. They have the "Law" word in their name, implying that they will dispute and/or sue the collection agencies for you. They make you think that, since they are attorneys, they will act as your attorney and fight the dastardly agencies in ways you could only dream of.
They do no such thing.
What they do is write all the letters to either dispute, or ask for debt validation, or whatever is required to clean up the negative entries, and then add your name to the bottom and send them from your zip code so it seems like YOU doing the letter writing.
That's it. Not that exciting, huh? But this is why they are one of the few legit credit repair services!! Credit repair cannot be done overnight, and any companies who claim such are either planning to take your money and run or are going to do something illegal with your identity. Folks, it just isn't possible to do it any other way.
So, knowing this, you can decide if Lexington Law is right for you. Do you feel like following my steps here on this website, writing to collection agencies to tell them to stop calling, asking for debt validation over and over again, negotiating debt settlement opportunities, writing "pay for delete" letters, registering all the mail so you have proof it was actually received by the agency, and being very, very tenacious over and over again? If you feel you have the wherewithal to do it yourself, you may want to check out some credit repair software that can help you get organized. If you know you won't be able to keep up with this process yourself or just don't feel like dealing with the hastle, then Lexington Law may be right for you.
Imagine paying a small monthly fee to have someone else do all that work for you, and then all you have to worry about are TWO things: paying bills on time, and reducing your debt. With Lexington, you could focus exclusively on those two things. No writing of dispute, validation, and settlement letters, no having to deal with the collection agencies yourself. In no time, your credit score will rise. They're reasonable priced as well; about as much as a typical Internet or cell phone bill. Learn more
